Don't Read This is Political matters bother you
So I woke up this morning and found a letter in my facebook inbox. It angered me so much that I had to repsond. I hate to admit it, but I am starting to lose friends because of political affiliations, because i just don't have the patience I once had. I believe as I believe and its getting to be that time, when I am about to start acting out against those who would otherwise harm this nation, and this planet because they think we are playing some political flag waving football game. This isn't a game! Dammit all!! This isn't a game!!! Conversation posted below....

Btw, everyone is entitled to thier own opinions, just don't try to change mine unless you are -very- well read and come packing numbers with references....

I see you're an hard-core Obama fan. That's disappointing. You need to get your priorities straight. Vote your conscience.

(McCain truly loves our Country. Obama refuses to put his hand on his heart while saying the pledge of allegiance or even wear an America flag pin - not to mention has never voted in a presidential election.. ever.)

Did you seriously just sent me this? My conscience says that women have a right to make up thier own mind. My conscience says the wealthy don't desearve the breaks while the needy go without healthcare. My conscience says that all men and women are greated equal, regardless of sexual preference. My conscience says that to invade a country under false pretenses is just wrong. My conscience says that any flag we salute or burn there is blood on both shores. Who cares about a flag pin? Thats stupid. I don't even believe in flags, period. I might have been forced to pledge my allegiance to this country when i was a child, but now I pledge my allegiance to this planet and all the people in it. "America" is just a hunk of land above water. That land or its people are not better or more important than anyone elses. And frankly.... i think the catholic church is the biggest abomination against the lord that the planet has ever seen. Just look at thier history. Its corrupt to no end. I certainly hope you did not target me specifically to send this to, but if you did, you are a fool. If I was just part of some mass mailing, then you need to be more careful. I think your "moral right wing conservatism" is a step backwards in progress. Maybe you should vote less for what the tv and your preacher tells you, and vote with your brain. I see you are a hard core John McCain fan, and thats dissappointing. Vote with your brain. Vote Obama.

moral right wing conservatism is sticking to the morals and laws that God enforced in the beginning. Nothing that strays away from God is progress.

    I'm voting McCain =)

Who would Jesus bomb? WHo would Jesus starve? Who would Jesus let corporations exploit? Who would jesus let get filthy rich and then take advantage of the needy? Would Jesus judge a gay man or forgive him? (as if there is somethign to forgive) Its not an endless debate. You just don't practice your own religion. You pretend you do because it sounds good to say out loud. Vote for whoever you want to. But pledging allegiance or a flag pin doesn't have policy to save the ecomony. It doesn't stop terror. And it certainly doesn't get you any closer to any god. Pretend as you will. And you are right. This is an endless dispute, and you are wise to end it.

    Comedy Skit Ideas
I am writing a skit for the GSU FinAid dept designed to make the counselors laugh about their jobs as counselors and the students they encounter. If you have any "situational" skits or humorous comments, thoughts, memories, or ideas that you think could be used to help me, please message me with them. I look forward to reading any responses and writing a successful comedy skit. Remember, this is a chance to make fun of faculty as well as students.... so get out there and make me proud by insulting others!

    Are you ready?
    Ladies and gentlemen,
For your enjoyment i have uploaded my last match at the AWN for the summer. The match took place after me and Paul broke up our tag team because we lost the belts and he hit me with a chair. This is the Nigh Invulerable Stephen Warfield vs the Technically Perfect Paul warfield. 12 minutes of Warfield action. Check it out!

    * Ding Ding Ding *
    Ladies and Gentlemen,
This Saturday night me and on of my best friends Paul Meloun accomplished something nearly 10 years in the making. It was a dream since middle school and a fantasy since I could remember. Me and Paul, as the more than dynamic duo, Stephen and Paul Warfield, defeated The Slaughter Pit and "The Juggalo" Ash and "the Last Rebel" Jerry Thompson in a three way dance to win AWN Tagteam titles. After paying our dues for more than 2 summers I was able to sweet talk my way into a title shot. I have never in my life seen a more dissappointed group of fans. Well... maybe that time I got to see PJ watch Brett get screwed. They were silent for a moment, and then the flurry of boos. If I wasn't too busy relishing in their anguish as a heel, I would have probably cried. So for at least the next week I will be carrying the gold wherever I am seen. Throwing up Warfield hand gestures and talking like I am the champ. Humor me. It will pass. I got a few pics up too on myspace. Check that out. Have a great day.

Literary: D&D Manuals Sure its all fiction, but I at least feel like I'm learning to expect the unexpected and learning how i would react to it.

Musical: Gangsta Rap When it comes to modern radio play, I can't help but feel the beats of hard rap. Its like my EBM, but with drugs, hoes, and guns

In this town, we call home....
I am being told from many angles that I should consider updating my journal. I guess this one goes out to all of you that still read me. Lets make a list shall we? Yes! Lets!

    1)Halloween - costume - Emperor Palpatine
2)School - all classes doing well. always papers to be worked on.
3)Work - I am now the manager of a family owned gas station called the Cork and Bottle where I have haggled my way to a pay higher than any of my previous pays, and its well more than I deserve. ;)
3)Car - My truck was stolen last year but was found in Riverdale GA last week. Hoping to get that back and stop driving my granparents old clunker.
4)Women - I see them them sometimes. Mostly when going to school or work. There are a few ladies out there that I have been enjoying my time with as of late. One of them dressed as an X-(Wo)Man (Shadowcat) for Halloween. Thats hot.
5)Gym - I work out probably 3 times a week, and run less than I would like, but I am trying to keep up with the work i did all summer.
6)Today - Work till 5. Makeup till 8. Trick or Treat till 10. Rocky Horror Picture Show after that. Its nice.
7)The Scene - If you're looking for me, you can find me at Dos Primos on most Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and most of the time on thursday and friday as well. (no, not always drinking)
8)Family - Brother still in Athens, Father and Sister in Tennessee, Mother still in Thomaston
9)Pets - My dog Charlie now lives with my mom and is quite fat and happy.
10)Music - Loving the new VNV Nation album Matter and Form and oddly enough the new album from Young Jeezy. Its gangsta rap, but its hard as hell.

Well how about that. I have summed up my entire life in 10 points. How depressing. Well, maybe if one of those points change I will update again. We shall see. I hope you enjoyed this look into the world of the superhero of Statesboro.

This is an article I submitted to out local college newspaper, the George Anne. I do hope everyone enjoys it. Ramble on!

    Responsibility Not Restriction
    By Stephen Purvis
Over the past week I am sure that everyone has heard more than their fair share about “Ladies Lockup” at the Wooden Nickel. Yes, any underage girl with a fake ID or a reasonably good story can get in. Yes, it is little more than a trap to get young girls trashed for two hours so that when the guys get there later its fairly easy pickings. You might even be able to call that night “date rape” night as one person did in the George Anne on Wednesday. There are some horrible guys out there. There are guys that will quickly take any advantage over any situation they can. Girls can get hurt. But where do we place the blame in all this?
We could blame the bar. They offer the free liquor. They know good and well the intentions on their themed night. They hire bouncers that don’t check ID and bouncers that will let any pretty face in the door. Let’s face it. The bouncers are guys. I am sure they have no problem with girls coming in and getting wasted for free.
We could blame Statesboro. The city itself allows this kind of drinking to go on. The rules are set in place so that you can’t even buy liquor in town. The only place to drink anything but beer is out in the “Statesboro Scene.” If it wasn’t for such restrictions on alcohol in this city, we wouldn’t have to worry about kids driving home drunk because they could do it from the privacy of their own home. Not only that, but there is nothing else to do for fun in this town that’s wholesome group fun.
We could blame Georgia Southern. Even our own bookstore sells shirts with taglines like “You can retake a test but you can’t relive a party.” What kind of message are we sending current and up and coming students? Frankly, if not for the rampant alcoholism and the thought of GSU being a “party school” we probably would find ourselves slowly falling off the map.
We could blame the guys. It’s those lower than life, scum of the earth guys that would take it upon themselves to take advantage of a drunk girl. Frankly guys, if she isn’t attracted to you when she is sober, you probably don’t want to shack up with her in the first place. Anyone who would consider rape is despicable, and I hope anyone who reads this is offended if the shoe fits.
But does this seem fair? Whose fault is it really that all this is happening? I say take a shot at giving personal responsibility to the girls involved. Who was it that got a fake ID from a friend when she turned 15? Who was it that used the fake ID at the door to get a wristband and get into the club? Who was it that went to the Wooden Nickel during Ladies Lockup knowing full well what the drinking deal was, and what could happen afterwards. Here is the deal. If you are dumb enough to fake you age, drink way more than you should, and then leave with a strange guy you don’t know it’s your fault. You have to think for yourselves or you are going to ruin it for the rest of us.
Let’s think about some of the rules that allow these kinds of things to even make it to the Council in the first place. The one I have heard most today is over the “Pay one cover, drink all you want” technique. Apparently it’s against city rules to do this. The bars are countering by saying that the fee is not for alcohol, but food one might consume while you are at the club. So one of the petitions is to eliminate the all you can drink nights. If just the wooden nickel gets their night shut down who is going to stop another bar from doing the same? So now we should stop all of them? Beer and Wings? Drink and Drown? Ladies Lockup? Friday Nights at Apex? This is going to effect a lot of responsible Statesboro drinkers.
Ready for another approach? What about the economic factors? One student may have to drink for 5 dollars because otherwise they would be spending 40 or 50 dollars at the bar each night. Maybe being too costly will curve the drinking problem? Unlikely. Its abundantly clear that many of Statesboro’s finest are coming from wealthy families to begin with. Families that don’t mind wasting 24,000 on a brand new car for their freshman, or paying insane fees to buy friendship with a fraternity. So what if we cancelled these nights? Well the poorer of us would have to stop drinking entirely, while the more wealthy of us would just continue to blow mom and dad’s money like its going out of style.
So by changing the rules we have taken money from the clubs, we have taken money from the students, and we have taken the freedom to drink away from responsible people? Happy now? So how do we fix this problem you might ask? The same way we started it. Peer Pressure. If you are a bouncer check the IDs. Closely. If you know someone is drinking underage either stop them or at least stop them before they have too much. All you older kids out there are going to lose out if we let these children ruin it for us. It is up to every student to promote alcohol responsibility.
For those of you that are promoting to make these new rules or to change old ones, think about this. Do you really think you can stop underage drinking? We make ID’s but they can be faked. We shut down the bars, but they can just get friends to buy more alcohol for home. We can ban liquor from Bulloch and people can go to Savannah and then drive home drunk at 75 miles and hour. We do not need our government to do any more “protecting” us. We are all smart enough to know our limits. The war on drugs has been a failure. If people want to smoke, they will. The war on terror is a failure. If people are unhappy, they will revolt. The war on cigarettes is a failure. Just because people can’t smoke in public means they are less likely to spend money at your establishment. That fact is that for every new law put in place that’s one more freedom that is taken away.
This is for the girls. Ladies, you make college a pleasure but work with us here. I know it seems like fun to go out and drink yourself ridiculous. I have done it. I am sure there are few on campus that haven’t. Just be careful. There are fewer southern gentlemen than we would like to see now a days and its just not safe for you. Bring a buddy. Have them help you stop drinking. Keep them from letting you leave with people you don’t trust. If you know you can’t control yourself just stay at home. I will personally deliver the alcohol to your door if it means you won’t get out there and get hurt. Plus… you are taking mine and many others drinking habits away by your bad choices. Don’t do it.

    You Are The Champion
    "Don't worry, I got it."

You play as the Hero. You are the one who usually tries to take on the world for any cause you believe in. You are a natural leader in most circles and are not afraid to take that position if a situation calls for it. Others look to you for inspiration and praise you for your acheivements. Even though they love and adore you, however, you are left feeling alone or overwhelmed many times. You're almost always positive and keep your chin up despite any setbacks because you know that you will succeed in the end, no matter how long it takes.

This mainly goes out to all those people in the Atlanta area. For the next 3 months, thats right, 3 months, I will be in Macon GA, about a 45 minutes ride from Atlanta. I also have reliable transportation. I know you are all busy, but on the weekends (besides working out and wrestling with my tag team partner PJ, and my new coach John) I want to be seeing some of the coolest people I know. Yes. I am still talking about you. So msg me, write me, or call me, and lets set up something. I know I owe half of your dinner. Time for me to make up for all those near misses! See you soon!

To my friends, to my followers
Evereyday that passes, is a day closer to our goals. Every night that goes by is a day closer to the ends of what we know. Believe deep in your heart. Know within yourself. Do only that which is right. Make the world a better place around you, for if you don't, no one will. It is up to me and everyone of us to care where care isn't found. It is up to everyone of us to know where knowledge is lacking. It is up to our hearts to make our care known where people have forgotten to care. I am not your leader. Don't follow me. Follow yourself. You have the right answer. You are not alone. You are not afriad. Do what must be done lest you find yourself unable, and wihtout. Join me and let your voice be heard. Shout out against those who would hold you down. Shout louder against those who would hold others down. Protect them over you and be protected. Leave noone behind, and leave no soul uncharished. We are all responsible. We are all capible. We are all ready. Just do it.

Ok, ok Here goes. You better look lively. You'd better step back. You better listen closely. You're only gonna get this once. School's out for winter. Good grades all around. One more semester to go. Work is going well. Food Lion is converting to Harveys. The 3 people who run the entire Harveys corp are Purvis's. How convenient. I had a get together at my house to celebrate schools ending. Got a keg. Only about 15 people came cause most people where out of town and I didn't invite anyone but close friends. A cop showed up to tell us we were too loud. He was a Purvis. Weird. Now I am enjoying the break, and looking forward to trying to gte out and see some friends, specifically the ones in Atlanta.

    Status : content

Oh yeah... and If -I- were to make a Pirate ship... it would go something like this...

    Captian : Myself. Cappin Purvis
First Mate : PJ Meloun (keep me from outright doing something stupid)
Counsellor : Scott McDaniel (keep me from making an ass out of myself when dealing with foreignors)
Cannoneer : Stephen (Dok) Waters (in charge of the killing)
Navigator : Ryan (the Weez) Weason (won't let me get lost)
Scout : Joshua (Stretch) Rasco (tall enough to see land. we'll keep him in the watchtower)
Special Forces : Jimmy (nutty enough to do what it takes)

Everyone else that wanted to come along would have to cook or row during low winds. I have also created 3 new positions for the 3 newest members of my friends list...

Jeanette : She will deal will all communications with wizards and other magical beings on the way.
Meg : She will keep Jimmy from doing anything insane that might be devestating to my ship. Like building a fire in the cargo hold or something like that.
Candance : She will make sure crazy punk kids with skin tight pants, bullet belts, and pink hats -DO NOT- board the ship.

ok. I think this was random enough and pointless enought o be one of my journal entries. I hope you enjoyed it. And if you didn't... well then... i didn't write it for you anyway.

    Never look back.
The uneducated masses being blindly led into a state of absolute control. The power being shifted, so shifts the supposed will of the people. Guns and cannons fire upon innocent people in the name of freedom, a word whose meaning is lost upon bloody and defeated ears. Those who defend their families and their god are treated as terrorists, and those who would slay them for their reluctance to submit are claimed to be heroes. A time soon comes when all men and women, even children across the planet will be rallied to the cause of justice. Stand against your oppressors and join hands in spite of stature or race. Being human is not a curable disease but a blessing given to us from a God beyond our comprehension. The last and only sin is to destroy ourselves or let ourselves be destroyed in the pursuit of profit for the few. The good of the many and the tears they have cried will pollute the very drinking water with sadness. Despair and hopelessness have taken hold of the poverish, and fear had fled from the hearts of the powerful. Do not stand by and be stagnant. Do not allow yourselves to be lost to the foolish mistakes being made and passed on as fear or progress. The time is now and you will never get another chance on this planet to make a difference. Remember that for eternity you will look back on life and how things should have changed. How they could have changed if you only still believed that change was possible.

    You son of a bitch.
I hate the internet. Wait a second. Let me explian. I love the internet. The ability to have to worlds knowledge, programs, music, and movies at my fingertips is invaluable. Maybe I should rephrase that. I hate chatting on the internet. Hmm.. thats not quite right either. I have many friends online and I talk to them often. We use the net to meet up and have more fun in person. Ok. How about this? I hate having a serious conversation online that could carry emotional content. Want to know why?

    Fuck you, bitch.

Have any idea how I meant that? Am I pissed off? Am I joking? Am I laughing as I think it? Sure emoticons help, but they are lame as hell, and can't possibly carry all the weight of an inflected voice. Emotions tend to run wild online. You can fall in love in a night, or you can want to kill someone for thier ignorange. Its just silly. People... if something is bothering you in real life, what makes you think that having a text based conversation about it can make it any better? It just adds to confusion thats already there. Pick up a phone. Call someone. Or better yet, find a way to meet up with them. Thats the only way to solve problems. Unless you want to talk to each other like a cheesy novel.

"Fuck you, bitch," Stephen laughed as he poked the girl next to him in the side.

But I don't have that kind of time. You probably don't either. Lets recap. Internet for meeting people, sending quick messages, have conversations about things with no great emotional impact. Not for trying to explain why you are having problems in a relationship, trying to talk about poilitics or religion, or when you are in a pissy mood. Good. Now you can go on to be good little net junkies.

    Oh the Irony
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. You would think I would eventually come around and learn my lesson, but oh no. It seems the same people keep finding thier ways back into my life. And whats worse? I keep letting them. Letting them in. Letting them use me. Letting myself trust them, and then feeling shocked and hurt when the do exactly what they always do. Son of a bitch. Well.. I guess since I seem to be incapable of learning a lesson this way, i will try to learn from someone elses mistakes. I bring you some London After Midnight lyrics.

    Stephen

    London After Midnight - Shatter

    You're telling me
that I'm the most important thing to you,
    but can't you see?
you're killing me with all the things you do,
and I really want to believe it's impossible
I really want to believe it's all a dream,
but I just can't seem to wake up,
I just can't seem to turn on the light,
    one step off the edge
and the world will seem all right

    You did it again,
    yes you in the mirror,
you put your faith in a cruel world,
All my dead friends come to haunt, harm and hinder, never letting go,
here to drag me down to Hell,
    just say goodbye...

    Just answer me,
what was the point of all that treachery,
    and soon we'll see
the truth behind all of your blasphemy,

    No never again
I'll never trust no one again,
I'd sooner slit my wrists and risk discovery of Hell,
than stay another moment here where certain Devils dwell..

    Random notebook scibbles today
The living proof of constant circles
    Spinning ‘round above the surface
    Always changing, life’s a circus
Some with meaning some with purpose.

Both the pleasure and the pain
Gives me life to help sustain
My ball of light behind the rain
    Never fail but try again.

The moral is but never was
Life is more than just the buzz
The chase between the cons and fuzz
The effect is that there is no cause.

So learn to trust and start to love
Be the peace and be the dove
Praise to all and god above
Come over here and share a hug.
